The work life report is a document that allows you to know not only your Social Security contributions, but also serves to certify, in a certain sense, your entire professional career. That is why more and more companies are starting to ask for this document from job applicants, since it shows all the companies in which you have worked throughout your life. This document shows the time you have worked, the type of contract you have had and your social security contributions.
2. Request via internet: another way of requesting the employment history is via internet, through the electronic headquarters of the social security. If we decide to use this method, there are in turn four other ways to obtain our work history:

The work life report is the official document in which all the periods in which you have been contributing to the Social Security System, either as an employee or as a self-employed person, are recorded.
By requesting it in this way, the certificate can be downloaded at the same time in PDF format and with an electronic validation code. In order to request it through this option, a certificate accepted by the Social Security is required.
The Social Security has a wide network of FNMT-RCM Electronic Certificate Registration Offices distributed throughout the country. In these offices you can register your application by proving your identity and providing the documentation required by the FNMT-RCM for this procedure:
The fourth of the icons that we see in the image above, is the one that corresponds to request the report without digital certificate. If we do it by means of this option and we click on that icon we will get a screen that says: «The sending of the reports of situation, requested through this service will be made to the applicant’s address existing in the databases of the General Treasury of the Social Security». We have to fill in our data and click on the continue button.

One of the ways to request, consult or download our employment history report is by using the new DNI (electronic DNI), which incorporates a chip and allows us to carry out many of the Administration’s procedures over the Internet. Remember that it is essential to have a hardware reader to insert the Dni card, and that currently there are other forms of access as fast and simple (or more), such as verification of identity by phone call or, our favorite, request the work life by SMS, which allows us to download or print instantly.
How to request the work life with the DNIeYou must access the S.S. website https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/Buscamos the Work Life optionSelect the section Citizens, Reports and certificates and Your work life report on the Social Security website. We will be able to download the report of work life from the section importass choosing to identify ourselves with the option of the Digital Certificate.
